Why join the Preferred Contractor Network?
The network has been highlighted by news outlets, featured at the Minnesota State Fair Eco Experience, by CERTs via the Minnesota Department of
Commerce, and is designated on Great River Energy’s qualified contractor list. By joining the network, members can gain leads and complement their inclusion on utility contractor lists.
Who should be listed?
Sales staff are typically listed in the Preferred Contractor Network. We list the name of an individual staff member who helps customers select and size equipment under each company on our webpage. Any staff member can begin and manage the application process on behalf of their company.
What are the requirements?
These steps can be completed by any staff member at your company:
- Complete our online intake survey.
- Sign participation agreement via DocuSign (sent after survey completion).
- Provide proof of insurance.
The steps below must be completed by the individual staff member who will be listed:
- Complete required training from the ASHP Collaborative. Trainings can be completed online in about 2 hours or at a qualified in-person event.
- Demonstrate quality installation of a centrally ducted ASHP with a one-time virtual site verification, which can be completed at any time through our online form. Please review the site criteria listed on the first page of the form before selecting a site. We’ll also ask to hear from the homeowner through a brief online survey.
Once added to the network, members must maintain responsiveness with Preferred Contractor Network communications and complete a renewal site verification every other year.
The Preferred Contractor Network is administered by the Minnesota ASHP Collaborative, a joint effort between Center for Energy and Environment and Minnesota Power, Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency, Great River Energy, Missouri River Energy Services, and Otter Tail Power.
